Product description
N°12 pocket knife, made of carbon steel, blade length 12 cm, Opinel brand
This knife provides excellent cutting quality and the safety ring allows the user to use it safely.
Intended for resistant materials, N°12 has the optimal size for farm work and hunting. At the table, the knife becomes an original and effective utility knife to cut cheese or ham.
XC90 carbon steel
Opinel carbon steel is extremely hard, guaranteeing excellent cutting quality, good wear resistance and easy sharpening. The carbon steel blade is very susceptible to corrosion. The blade should be dried after each use and greased regularly.
The handle
Beech wood is the most commonly used wood for manufacturing Opinel handles. Originating from France, the beech wood used is hard, easy to work and durable. With a homogeneous appearance, its light colour ranges from yellow to pink. It is characterized by the presence of many fine dark lines.
Safety ring
Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring is fitted on all folding knives from the N°06 model onwards. Cut from stainless steel, the Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safety in use), it is now possible to lock the blade when it is closed (safety during transport).
