Set of 3 BRITA Classic filters, produced by BRITA, compatible with BRITA Classic filter jugs.

The BRITA Classic filter cartridge reduces limescale buildup and other substances, such as chlorine, which affect the taste and smell of your tap water.

Additionally, it reduces certain heavy metals (such as copper and lead) and some pesticides (e.g., diuron).

It also reduces organic impurities.

The result is cleaner, clearer water with a superior taste, ideal for drinking, preparing hot or cold beverages, and cooking delicious meals.

One BRITA Classic cartridge filters approximately 100 litres of tap water* (the amount depends on water hardness and quality).

For a daily consumption of 2 litres of water per person and to ensure optimal results, we recommend replacing the BRITA Classic cartridge every 4 weeks or after filtering 100 litres of water. After the recommended period, remove the lid of the filter jug, carefully take out the funnel, then grip the cartridge on both sides and pull it upwards.

How does the water filtration process work?

Simply! Through a relatively quick process (approximately 1 minute), yet highly effective, thanks to the four key components of the BRITA Classic cartridge:
1. Intensive pre-filtration: Water passes through a fine mesh filter.
2. Ion exchange filtration: Ion-exchange resin reduces limescale (carbonate hardness) and certain metals such as lead and copper.
3. Activated carbon filtration: Activated carbon reduces substances that affect the water’s taste and odour, such as chlorine.
4. Final intensive filtration: A special fine mesh filter captures the remaining particles.

Note: These filters are only compatible with BRITA Classic filter jugs, which were discontinued in 2012. The Classic filters are still available to assist customers who continue to use Classic filter jugs.

*BRITA filters are designed exclusively for filtering tap water (provided it is regularly tested and deemed potable) or water from private suppliers that has been declared safe for consumption.
