Product description
Pocket knife N°08, from the "Engraved" range, made from stainless steel, blade length 8.5 cm, Opinel brand
Designed for outdoor enthusiasts, the Opinel knife from the "Engraved" range honours, through the engraved image on its handle, the specific landscapes of America.
It offers excellent cutting quality, and the safety ring allows the user to use it without risks.
Martensitic stainless steel
The stainless steel used in the manufacture of Opinel blades is optimized to guarantee both high resistance to corrosion and high mechanical performance. The blade offers excellent sharpening and high resistance to abrasion (wear), allowing it to withstand regular contact with hard materials, such as ceramics, before needing re-sharpening. Stainless steel has the advantage of not requiring special maintenance under normal conditions of use, unlike carbon steel. However, it can reach its limits when in prolonged contact with an aggressive environment (acid, saltwater, detergent...). Stainless Steel Hardness: 55-57 HRC.
Handle
The oak wood comes from France. It's a hard wood, highly resistant to insects and fungi due to its high tannin content. It has a yellow-brown appearance with regular veins.
Safety ring
Invented by Marcel Opinel in 1955, the Virobloc safety ring is mounted on all folding knives starting from model N°06. Cut from stainless steel, Virobloc has two sections, one fixed and one sliding. In addition to locking the blade in the open position (safety during use), it is now possible to lock the blade when closed (safety during transport).
Blade length: 8.5 cm
