Product description
N°113 kitchen knife, with serrated blade, made from stainless steel, blade length 10 cm, Opinel brand
The micro serrated blade is suitable for slicing tomatoes, hard-boiled eggs or kiwi fruit.
The knife has a comfortable beech wood handle with a lacquered surface.
Martensitic stainless steel
The stainless steel used to manufacture OPINEL knife blades is optimized to guarantee both high corrosion resistance and high mechanical performance.
The knife blade offers excellent sharpness and high abrasion (wear) resistance, allowing it to withstand the usual contact with hard materials such as ceramics before requiring resharpening. Stainless steel has the advantage of not requiring special maintenance under normal use, unlike carbon steel. However, the blade can reach its limits when put in prolonged contact with an aggressive environment (acid, salt water, detergent...).
Stainless steel hardness: 55-57 HRC.
The handle
Beech wood is the most commonly used type of wood in the manufacture of the Opinel handles. Originating from France, the beechwood is hard, durable and easy to work with. With a homogeneous appearance, wood's light shade varies from yellow to pink and it is characterized by the presence of numerous fine dark-toned lines.
