The portfolio of the American manufacturer OXO includes hundreds of kitchen utensils, with numerous awards for design, utility and innovative way of using materials.
Whether the utensils are for cooking, serving, storage or cleaning, all OXO products are based on the principle of Universal Design - designed so that they can be used efficiently and easily by as many people as possible.
The story of OXO began in the 1980's, with Samuel Farber - a former businessman - and his wife, Betsey, suffering from arthritis. Although cooking enthusiast, Betsey's illness caused her discomfort and pain when she was using the peeler and other kitchen utensils. Sam's idea was to give his wife an ergonomic and easy-to-use device for fruit and vegetable peeling.
The founder of OXO has gone so far with his passion that he has worked with doctors in the geriatrics field to develop kitchen utensils and accessories suitable for using by all people: from ergonomic handles with non-slip properties to rounded shapes, sharp blades and many design details that streamline food preparing and increase comfort during use.
Among the most popular OXO utensils are the famous vegetable peeler, Y-shaped peeler, mandolin, 3 in 1 avocado slicing device, salad dryer or garlic press. The POP containers for food storage are successful all over the world because of the many benefits they offer.
A percent resulting from OXO's sales is donated every year to support environmental protection associations.
