What is thermal printing?

During the direct thermal printing process, the print head comes into direct contact with the thermal paper. The heat generated by the print head causes the thermal layer on the paper to darken, producing the desired image or text.

This process does not require ink and is generally used for printing labels, receipts, tickets and other applications where the printed material is not intended for long-term use. Direct thermal prints can fade over time when exposed to heat, light or friction.
